Acer palmatum ‘Red Dragon’
The Red Dragon Japanese Maple is arguably the best deep purple-red dissectum cultivar in trade today. Not as well-known as its counterpart, the Crimson Queen, the Red Dragon retains its red purple color through the summer heat better like a champ. The Red Dragon Japanese Maple has deeply cut seven-lobed leaves and a dwarf-like, compact, cascading mound habit. The tree makes an excellent small garden, rock garden, container, or bonsai plant.
